Later this month, the portal will launch, showcasing iconic soccer events, artwork, and photography.
FIFA, the world’s governing body of soccer, has announced it would introduce an NFT platform for digital collectibles with soccer themes in the months leading up to the 2022 World Cup.
FIFA+ Collect, the portal, will include “cheap, inclusive, and accessible” NFTs that incorporate famous soccer moments, artwork, and photography when it launches later this month. Moments from the prestigious international soccer event may possibly be made into digital treasures as it unfolds in Qatar in late November.
In a statement, FIFA’s Chief Business Officer Romy Gai stated, “Like sports collectibles and stickers, this offers an accessible chance for fans across the world to connect with their favorite players, events, and more on new platforms.”

Soon, further details regarding the collections that will be included in FIFA+ Collect’s debut as well as indications about the kind of NFTs that will be released throughout the World Cup, will be made accessible. The NFT platform will be housed on FIFA+, the organization’s gateway for live soccer events, news, games, and original content.
Algorand gained notoriety earlier this year when it acquired the digital music sharing service Napster and collaborated with LimeWire, which had previously been its own peer-to-peer music service. More recently, Algorand unveiled a music-focused NFT marketplace showcasing the works of artists signed to the label of Universal Music Group.
This November in Doha, there will be more cryptocurrencies than Algorand. Crypto.com announced in March that it will be the exclusive cryptocurrency exchange sponsor of the World Cup. The business, however, may be scaling back its ambitious plan for sports collaborations after allegedly canceling a $495 million sponsorship agreement with UEFA, the European Champions League, earlier this week.
