According to Cointelegraph, the California Department of Financial Protection and Innovation (DFPI) has issued 17 warnings against cryptocurrency brokers and websites that it considers to be fraudulent over the course of two days.

Tahoe Digital Exchange, TeleTrade Options, Tony Alin Trading Firm, Hekamenltd/Tosal Markets Limited, Trade 1960, Yong Ying Global Investment Company Limited, Unison FX, VoyanX.com, and ZC Exchange are among the companies on the list, according to Cointelegraph. The warnings are thought to have been broadcast between December 27 and December 28, 2022. According to sources, the DFPI seldom issues notifications all at once due to the rise in complaints of cryptocurrency scams in the second half of the year. DFPI published a sizable number of cryptocurrency fraud alerts for 26 cryptocurrency sites on June 15, 2022.
According to information provided by Cointelegraph, the topic of these warnings includes pig-slaughtering offenses, which refer to creating false identities in order to engage in phoney romantic relationships via social media, messaging services, and dating apps. It is assumed that the ultimate goal is to obtain the victim’s cryptocurrency assets using a phoney copy of a legitimate website.
“The DFPI advises customers to proceed with the utmost caution before responding to any solicitation providing financial or investing services. To confirm if a supplier of financial or investment services is authorized to operate in California,” the DFPI said.
