The metaverse is where Sir Anthony Hopkins is extending his wings.
The Web3 creative studio firm Orange Comet and the Oscar-winning actor and artist have collaborated to develop and release the Eternal Collection, the first NFT series.
During an online press conference, Hopkins informed the reporters, “NFTs offer a blank canvas to produce art in a new format.”
The metaverse, in the words of Hopkins, 84, “offers an amazing opportunity to engage with an audience in a whole different way… I’m likely the oldest guy in the NFT group and on social media, demonstrating that anyone can do anything.
The Eternal Collection digital collectibles aim to “conceptualise” 10 different character archetypes Hopkins has played throughout his film career, including Odin in three Marvel “Thor” films and Hannibal Lecter in “The Silence of the Lambs,” as well as incorporating themes and styles from the actor’s body of work.

According to Dave Broome, CEO of Orange Comet, the Hopkins NFTs will launch on OpenSea, the major NFT marketplace, around the middle of September. Hopkins and his wife, Stella Arroyave, will choose a charity to get a share of the sales earnings.
Iconic Category: A single animated NFT integrating each of the 10 archetypes that will be put up for auction and sold to the highest bidder. An “intimate lunch/brunch” with the actor, framed prints of NFT work signed by Hopkins, and an autographed copy of “Dreamscapes,” which has hundreds of full-color pictures of Hopkins’ paintings and drawings, are also included in the successful bidder’s package.
10 one-of-a-kind, individually animated NFTs in the legendary category, each with a distinct character archetype. Additionally, those purchasers will receive an in-person conversation with Hopkins through Discord, framed prints of NFT artwork autographed by Hopkins, and a signed copy of “Dreamscapes.”
Exceptional Category: 1,000 one-of-a-kind photographs based on the 10 archetypes (100 variants for each). includes a print of one of Hopkins’ NFT archetypes that have been personally signed. In addition, five buyers will be chosen at random to have a Discord discussion with the actor, and 39 random purchasers will receive an autographed copy of “Dreamscapes.”
Hopkins made his painting debut in 2005 when Harte International Galleries organized a solo show of his abstract pieces. The NFT project began when Margam Fine Art, Hopkins’ sole management business, contacted Orange Comet with the goal of introducing his artwork to the NFT market. One of the greatest actors and artists of our time has created a wonderful synergy of technology and art in this partnership, according to Broome.
Television programs such as “The Biggest Loser,” “Ultimate Beastmaster,” and “Jennifer Lopez: Halftime” have been produced by Orange Comet’s Broome. Early in 2021, when the NFT frenzy was just getting started, he co-founded Orange Comet with the notion that a winning strategy would be to create unique digital-collectible material based on well-known Hollywood titles. The company’s largest NFT effort to date has been for “The Walking Dead” on AMC Networks.
