Another exchange for cryptocurrencies fell victim to a cyberattack. This time, it was the cryptocurrency exchange Wintermute that reported on Tuesday that its Defi operations had been compromised to the tune of almost $160 million. According to Wintermute’s founder and CEO, Evgeny Gaevoy, there may be service interruptions today and perhaps over the next several days. 90 different assets have all been compromised.
The creator made sure, nevertheless, that Cefi and OTC business activities remained unaffected. We are solvent with twice that much equity remaining, he said.
Only two of the 90 assets that were compromised, according to the creator, were worth nominally more than $1 million (and none more than $2.5M).

If you are the attacker, get in touch, Gaevoy said, “because we’re still open to considering this as a white hat.”
Gaevoy said, “There will be an interruption in our services today and maybe for the following several days, and everything will return to normal subsequently.”
Leading algorithmic trading company Wintermute is developing the financial future while allowing its workers to behave like owners and achieve more than is feasible elsewhere. Wintermute is focused on cutting-edge digital asset markets.
Gaevoy has grown financial companies over more than 15 years. In Europe’s biggest fiat exchanges, he has regularly increased market share. He has also created ambitious growth projects and managed agile cross-functional teams.
