On August 30, during a strategic meeting, Prime Minister Mishustin issued this proclamation.

According to Cryptoslate, Mikhail Mishustin, Russia’s prime minister, has directed the country’s financial regulators and other relevant government organizations to “establish an agreed stance” regarding cryptocurrency regulations by December 19.

In accordance with the directive, the Bank of Russia, Rosfinmonitoring, the Federal Tax Service, and the FSB must work with the Russian Ministry of Finance to “draught federal legislation” that regulates the issue, mining, and usage of cryptocurrencies for international payments.

The Ministry of Finance and the Bank of Russia would also need to submit suggestions for how the government may use its digital ruble in the budget.

During a strategic discussion on August 30, prime minister Mishustin made this announcement, according to Cryptoslate.

He went on to explain that in order to boost the usage of digital currency and make it simpler for international investors and issuers to access the Russian financial markets, financial institutions needed to put procedures in place. Furthermore, he asserted that cryptocurrency will benefit Russia in the present and might perhaps assist ongoing payment for imports and exports, according to Cryptoslate.

Reportedly, Russia’s central bank has urged the government to outlaw the use of cryptocurrencies because they presented a risk to the country’s economy on several occasions. The ministry of finance requested, however, that the region be regulated instead. Vladimir Putin, the president of Russia, signed a law on July 14 making it illegal to use cryptocurrencies for local transactions.
