Putin advocates for a global payment system based on blockchain

In a post on Twitter, Ben Caselin discussed his intention to quit the firm as well as his role at the cryptocurrency exchange.

The Russian State Duma has been presented with a measure that would make cryptocurrency mining and sales legal.

The day prior, local media claimed that legislators were discussing amending the present cryptocurrency laws to create a legal basis for a nationwide exchange.

“A new system of international settlements that will be considerably more convenient, completely safe for its users, and, most importantly, will not depend on banks or intervention from foreign nations may be created using the technology of digital currencies and blockchains. Since everyone dislikes the monopolists’ rule, which hurts everyone—including the monopolists themselves—I am convinced that something similar will undoubtedly emerge.

The Russian State Duma, the lower house of parliament, received a bill legalizing cryptocurrency mining and the sale of the cryptocurrency mined on November 17.

The passage of the law, in Anatoly Aksakov’s words, “will bring this activity into the legal field and make it possible to form a law enforcement practice on issues related to the issuance and circulation of digital currencies,” according to Cointelegraph, the chairman of the Duma Financial Markets Committee. Russia currently forbids the usage of cryptocurrency for payment.
