Sam Bankman-Fried described how the use of blockchain technology may alter payments, tokenize shares, and enable social media integration.
Despite some of the use cases for blockchain being questioned by detractors during this crypto winter, one of the most well-known community participants has outlined certain arguments that support blockchain’s status as a transformative technology.
Blockchain use cases were highlighted on Twitter by Sam Bankman-Fried, CEO of the cryptocurrency exchange FTX, who also discussed how some businesses can gain from adopting the technology. Blockchain technology, in Bankman-opinion, Fried’s has the potential to revolutionize social media, streamline payments, and address stock market inefficiencies.
Cross-border transfers have a lot of problems, according to Bankman-Fried, who gave many instances highlighting lengthy wait periods and intermediaries that raise prices and frequently make transactions more unpredictable.

He claims that the three-step procedure in which the sender establishes a wallet, the recipient creates a wallet, and the balance is delivered through blockchain eliminates this long-standing problem in finance. According to Bankman-Fried, this eliminates the waiting period, changes the charge schedule, and resolves the uncertainty issue.
The FTX CEO also said how the stock trading process, which has several problems, may be completely changed by blockchain technology. He drew attention to the problems shown by the well-known GameStop short squeeze, in which stores closed their doors due to settlement concerns, and said that tokenizing stocks is the solution.
The CEO said that tokenized stock trading carried out on a blockchain may complete transactions in a matter of seconds and decrease settlement uncertainty with significantly reduced cost structures, similar to solutions for payments.
Last but not least, according to Bankman-Frie, social media is exclusive and non-interoperable. The executive brought out how managing several platform-specific applications require a single user to navigate across numerous apps.
According to Bankman-Fried, blockchain may increase social media’s interoperability and enable communications between different platforms. According to the CEO, messages may be passed from one social network to another by using public chains.
