Web3 company offers consumers digital tokens in exchange for burning calories

Maintaining your physical fitness is important, but finding the drive to go to the gym every day can be challenging. What if losing weight resulted in rewards?

Maintaining your physical fitness is important, but finding the drive to go to the gym every day can be challenging. What if losing weight resulted in rewards?

Fitmint, a Web3 fitness app, seeks to do that. The move-to-earn app includes built-in game features that allow you to earn prizes in cryptocurrencies or NFTs for exercising or walking.

Fitmint, a company that was jointly created in January 2022 by Viren Baid, Rohit Sharma, and Anurag Meena, intends to build a global network of exercise lovers.

Rohit explains in an interview with The Decrypting Story. I find it challenging to get out of bed each day to exercise. Our decision was to co-found Fitmint.

The group found that Web3 may be a tool for promoting a healthy lifestyle and resolving real-world issues.

When we were coming up with building ideas in December, we found that our concepts matched Web3’s ethos. We founded Fitmint on the principles of decentralization, openness, and trust,” adds Rohit.

FitMint is a move-to-earn game with a Polygon-based game contract. The founders intend to incorporate it into more chains in the future.

It is a mobile app where users register and build a decentralized in-app wallet, which will be used to store NFTs and crypto tokens, according to Rohit. Users must mint a shoe NFT after signing up.

Users may burn calories by walking, jogging, and more when the NFT token is minted, earning incentives in cryptocurrency.

We have an in-app tracker to keep tabs on a user’s caloric intake while exercising, according to Rohit. FITT tokens are given out based on the number of calories burned. A FITT coin is an ERC-20 token that has been implemented on Polygon and is exchangeable. Users may exchange the tokens for fiat money, use them to compete in social games and other activities, or even improve their sneakers.

Users may store their NFTs, cryptocurrencies, and other digital assets in the decentralized in-app wallet.

The company is concentrating on the social-fi component, where they can tokenize social influence and reward users, in addition to gamification and decentralized finance.

Both the iOS and Android operating systems support the app.

“In April, we released our close beta version for Android, and in May, for iOS. Since it is now in public beta, anybody may access, mint, and use the program.

The co-founder claims that they have several revenue streams.

On in-app transactions, such as the sale of shoe NFTs in the marketplace, we will levy a commission. We now get money from NFT sales that take place on our site. We get money when a new user signs up because they can purchase $150 worth of NFT, says Rohit.
